Euromechanica Goes Motor Racing

EuroMechanica has teamed up with the #991 Craft-Bamboo Porsche 911 GT3-R for a serious shot at outright honours in the 2018 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour.

EuroMechanica has teamed up with the #991 Craft-Bamboo Porsche 911 GT3-R for a serious shot at outright honours in the 2018 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour. Being factory-backed by Porsche and piloted by factory Porsche drivers, the Craft-Bamboo Porsche team share the same pride and passion as every specialist workshop in the EuroMechanica network.

Just as you look to take your prestige European vehicle to a standout mechanic who cares and won’t rip you off. Porsche does not put the full force of its motorsport program behind just any race team. With an extensive pedigree, including a third-place podium finish in the 2015 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour, Craft-Bamboo has the experience and the expertise to deliver Porsche their first victory in Australia’s International Endurance race. It’s this experience and the expertise that makes Craft-Bamboo and EuroMechanica perfect performance partners.

The full factory driver line-up piloting the #991 EuroMechanica Porsche 911 GT3-R features GT superstars; Earl Bamber (Le Mans 24-hour winner), Laurens Vanthoor (World Endurance Champion) and Kevin Estre (Porsche Carrera Cup Champion). They take on 29 GT3 rivals in the European dominated field, across 12-gruelling hours, over one of the most challenging tracks on the planet.

Affectionately known as ‘The Mountain’, the Mount Panorama circuit presents a variety of challenges, with huge elevation changes, devastating concrete walls and a lengthy 6.2km layout that features high-speed straights, a flowing midsection and a snaking series of esses – all designed to push a driver and their car to the limits.

Based in Hong Kong, the Craft-Bamboo outfit are well prepared to tackle a field featuring the biggest brands in GT racing, against some the best drivers in the world. All three drivers in car #991 will have to contest each stint flawlessly and stay out of trouble. Thankfully, like the technicians in every EuroMechanica Endorsed Workshop, each has the experience and skill to tackle the job at hand. Collectively they have pole-positions, podiums and class wins to their credit from previous Bathurst 12-Hour outings. This will enable the EuroMechanica Porsche 911 GT3-R to take the fight to the best GT drivers and teams this Sunday – and come out on top.

EUROMECHANICA – INDEPENDENT WORKSHOPS YOU CAN TRUST
EuroMechanica is Australia’s largest network of European specialist workshops. If you care about your car, you probably want to take it to a mechanic that cares too. Someone who only uses Liqui-Moly lubricants and specialises in your type of vehicle. Someone who really knows what they’re doing and won’t rip you off. So, for service and repair, problem-solving or performance enhancements, that standout mechanic is likely to be a EuroMechanica partner. You’ll love taking your car there.

Darryl O’Young – Team Director
“The team are really motivated for the 2018 Bathurst 12-Hour. All the planning is complete, it’s now down to the execution. All three drivers are well prepared for the challenge ahead and are familiar with both the car as well as the circuit, so we have a strong package here in Bathurst. We are pleased to have the support of EuroMechanica this weekend, which we hope will create some buzz amongst the Australian fans. All in all, we’re really looking forward to a solid weekend of racing.

Kevin Estre
“I am really looking forward to Bathurst-12 Hour. I feel we have a very strong line-up and a really strong package in general with the Porsche GT3-R. This will be my first race in 2018 and it’s going to be a tough one but also a great one. I love the track and with the entry list, it is going to be a very interesting race with a lot of action and an excellent line-up of winning GT cars. We will have to do a good job to survive and be there at the end to fight for victory.”

Earl Bamber
“I am excited for the Bathurst 12 Hour this weekend, I have just completed a tough 24-Hour race in Daytona and now I am looking forward to taking on the challenge of Bathurst with Craft-Bamboo Racing. We have a strong car backed up by a good line-up that is my teammates, Kevin and Laurens. I am really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve for Porsche and Craft-Bamboo Racing.”

Laurens Vanthoor
“I can’t wait to get started this weekend with Craft-Bamboo Racing and Porsche at the famous Bathurst 12-Hour. The event continues to grow, and the level of competition will be fierce, but I am confident in both the Porsche 911 GT3-R and my two teammates, Kevin and Earl. We all have some strong experience at this circuit and I feel if we can run a clean race then we have every opportunity to challenge for the overall win.”
